Accredited Mental Health First Aid – ONLINE
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) teaches participants how to assist people who are developing a mental health problem, experiencing a worsening of an existing mental health problem or in a mental health crisis, until appropriate professional help is received or the crisis resolves. Mental health first aid strategies are taught in evidence-based training courses authored by Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Australia. Participants will receive a manual and a three-year accreditation.
Duration: This course has two components. A self paced e-learning component (takes 5-7 hours to complete) and an instructor led component over zoom for two sessions both 2.5 hours each.

Overview: The Blended Online Mental Health First Aid course will teach you how to provide initial support to other adults who may be experiencing a mental health problem or mental health crisis until appropriate professional help is received or the crisis resolves, using a practical, evidence based action plan.
This course has two components.
- A self-paced elearning component (takes 5-7 hours to complete)
- An Instructor led component over zoom for two sessions both 2.5 hours each
Developing mental health problems covered:
- Depression
- Anxiety problems
- Psychosis
- Substance use problems.
Mental health crises covered:
- Suicidal thoughts and behaviours
- Non-suicidal self-injury
- Panic attacks
- Traumatic events
- Severe psychotic states
- Severe effects from alcohol or other drug use
- Aggressive behaviours.
Accreditation: Participants of the MHFA course will receive a three-year accreditation.
